About this cause

People seeking asylum are especially vulnerable to becoming homeless. None of CARAD's clients are eligible for Centrelink, which also means they have:

  • No access to crisis, transitional or long-term or community options
  • No access to the rental relief scheme

With the moratorium on rental evictions due to be lifted on 28th March 2021, we need to take action now and we need your help. We need support to ensure we can provide:

  • Rental payments to support clients to maintain their accommodation
  • Crisis accommodation as needed
  • Case work support to assist clients to understand their rights, negotiate with landlords and be referred for legal advice

Together, we will do our best to ensure people seeking asylum have access to a safe place to call home.
