After the sudden passing of Brauer College trade teacher Neil Porter on June 17th, 2018 his family have created two annual scholarships worth $2000 each. The scholarships aim to recognise the work of Mr Porter in teaching trade skills to thousands of students over his thirty-plus years at Brauer College, his effort to secure apprenticeships for many of these students and the connections he made between the school and the trade industry.
These scholarships are broken into two categories for consideration by student applicants:
1) Trade Apprenticeship - The Neil Porter Vocational Scholarship awards a student who has exhibited an outstanding work ethic, positive attitude and demonstrated respect towards their employer, clients and tools and secured a trade apprenticeship.
2) Engineering - The Neil Porter Tertiary Scholarship is open to students at all secondary schools in Warrnambool who are completing year 12 and going on to study engineering at university. The scholarship contributes to costs associated with attending university.
So to assist the Porter Family in enabling these scholarships to continue please donate now! Thank you.
